Love the giant burger. Three grandkids help us eat it. The giant tray of French Fries was a hit.
This place gets five stars for the local atmosphere and family ownership. Bright interior with basic kitchen countertop for the bar. Absolutely no pretense, no hipsters, no douche bags. Decent bar food. Every time I visit I recognize a few faces. Love the value for your buck and the old school tacos on Tuesday are just $0.75 each. Older crowd from happy hour till about midnight with 70's, 80's, country and light rock...when the college crowd rolls in and music changes to hip hop and that's my cue for bed.
If you ever dreamed of what it would be like getting drunk at the K Mart cafeteria, Target's food court or equally charming venue with your grandma then Sparks is your place. Its way too bright inside to comfortably have a few drinks, think T Monk Sunday Morning Pancake Fest. Doesn't work, does it? This place features a 3lb hamburger($22). That was a tad more than I had in mind so I just got a 1/2 lb burger and 1/2lb hot dogs. The burger was good, the bun was lightly toasted which was nice. The fries were average. The hot dog was really good, deli style, not the nonsense you might get at Dillion's or where ever. Speck's has some really nice HD tvs so it seems like a good place to catch a Chiefs game. Also, this place has free WiFi !? Just incase you have to update those TPS reports.. If you go on a good night where there may be a few entertaining Zetas /Thetas, then yes, i suppose this place would work fine..

Stopped in after shopping for drinks and Apps, Janice the bartender was Great, she checked in on us often-friendly and personable. The apps were fresh and hot! It was quite when we came in, not very busy-plenty of TVs with sports on. It's a local neighborhood bar, kinda like a Cheers vibe. One of my favorite local spots!
